SLAP Driver Question

Good morning,
I am planning to build 2x shorty SLAP but driver availability is making it a bit tricky. I've found a driver that is within 10% of the specs on the plans except the Vas is a touch high and the Xmax is almost half:
Dayton Audio MB620-8
Fs - 104 Hz
Qts - .55
Vas - .24 cubic ft/6.796043 L
Xmas- 2mm
https://www.parts-express.com/Dayton-Au ... hm-295-635
Will this driver provide decent results? If so, what effect will the lower Xmax have on the final product?

Halving xmax reduces maximum SPL by 6dB. That's the same as reducing maximum power by 75%.

Thanks, Bill. That's something to consider.

If you wanna put some grills on them, I have some 2'x2' grid ceiling vent grills that work perfect. I just cut and folded them to friction-fit. They look just like a professional did it lol

Good news. I found some Alpha 6A's on eBay and scooped up 4 of them. I placed an order on Parts Express for mostly everything else, sans the receiver which I got on Amazon. The BB should be in from St. Louis on Friday provided weather doesn't prevent it. I'll do my best to document the build on here well. There will be absolutely nothing special about these as they will be parked in the workshop.

Thanks, Jimbo. I may take you up on that. I'll probably need to go see the VA in STL in the near future so a stop in Wentzville makes sense.
