Should i glue the CD horn in place?
I had thought that i would drive some, short, counter sunk screws in from the top and bottom, but now that i think about it i really can't figure a reason why the horn would ever need to come back out. The CD horn drivers can be removed and installed with out the need to remove the whole horn.

I am enjoying the build. I think everything looks amazing. The tape idea was a smart thought.

Why would anyone want to exchange a stack of dr200s for some Omnis?

I’d like to build a set of four otop12 J-array/lights to be able to hang under my current stack of Omnis. Someday.

Thanks ACUA!
I did love my DR200s and i do miss them, but that whole set up just took up so much room . I suppose i could of kept one par of DRs and built some T39's instead... I dunno I like the form factor of the OT8, i they, along with the T39s I'm building will stow away easier.
I never really used that previous system to it's full extent anyway.

A lot of progress…
Crossovers mounted, drivers wired, top hats in.
No one will notice, but the cabs are ever so slightly out of square, so the back doors have an uneven gap, it’s ok it’s functional.
Playing them tonight!

Setting up my drive rack PX. I’m sure I’d hear it before things went south, but what would be the voltage limit on these?

There isn't a voltage limit for the tops. That's really more for the subs. You'll hear the tops screaming long before they blow up.

Titan 39 x 4 (3012LF) 20" wide

Bryan is right. And... I like to set mine for the "just-in-case" kinda things. Like protecting the drivers from inadvertent pops and clicks if the amps aren't powered off first or someone* hot swaps some cabling without remembering to power the amps off. It's not really an imperative necessary thing. But, I figure if I have the capability and it doesn't hurt anything... may as well. At the very least, I "feel" like I'm doing something preventative. I just set mine for the voltage equivalent to drivers RMS power rating.

Beta 8A's have an RMS rating of 225watts. If yours are wired parallel, 225 watts x 8Ω = 1800... The square Root of 1800 gives your voltage, 42.43 volts. I'd set it somewhere around there myself.
If they're wired in series to make them 16Ω cabs... 450 x 16Ω = 7200, SqRt(7200) = 85 volts

But, yeah... not really a requirement for tops like it is with the subs.

I had set a limiter with my DR 200s as well, because I also had the ability so why not. I never came close, but it was nice to know it was there.

Years ago, I remember Bill saying to limit to 1/2 of the thermal rating for tops.

That's the safest way to do it. Worst case you're giving up 3dB of maximum output, which is barely audible. On the flip side both the speaker and amp are gaining 3dB of headroom, which is never a bad thing.

Would having a 1/2 inch edge along the inside of the cab cause any adverse effects? To mount a grill.

Finally getting around to putting some paint and duratex down.
It’s subtle, but I painted the cd horns a dark gray. I wanted them to stand out just a little bit so when people walked by they might take a second look.
That’s some interesting stuff, that Duratex. I had to go back and forth over the same area multiple times to get a consistent texture. I suppose spraying it would have yielded better results, but I’m happy with it.
Oh and the grills look reeeal nice!
Thanks Leland!

Thanks!
I still have some touch up work to do, but they sure do look more suited for the wedding reception gig tomorrow.
