Re: Slim THTLP
Got it in place. Panel 2 was a bit bent, so the brace didn't fit properly. I sanded it a bit, at ended up pushing two plastic strips in the end, with lots of glue. I thought that was better than a bent baffle.

Jens, from where I'm sitting, that is looking really good. Looks square enough from here. Really square actually. Nice clean straight cuts, no tear out or frayed edges, no burnout marks. Great job. I'm really enjoying watching this come together.
And... good job showing those warped pieces who the boss is

Thanks Seth
I'll show some pictures of the havoc those curves causes, when I get home. But I will solve it, one panel at a time
I'm still not really looking forward to the last side. I will probably end up splitting it in half to be sure. I really, really don't want any leaks in this beast. So anxious to know, if it will hit the 20 Hz goal I'm aiming for

Re: Slim THTLP
Those slightly rounded cuts from the dealer showed up again.
I had to reduce the height of the baffle to make it fit to panel 1. But it's then 1.5 mm too short to fit panel (9?) I trimmed the panel hight, twice. First 1 mm and then 0.5mm, then sanded the joint to fit ( longer than the joint itself to make a smoother transition.)
The side will have to flex about 1.5 mm to fit the hight differences across the panels.
Picture of difference(supposed to be 36cm exactly) and my cutting station. Don't tell me that a THT can't be build on a budget.

Looking great! Way to overcome those obstacles!

Re: Slim THTLP
Here is how I solved panel 10. Was a struggle, as had already installed braces on 9. Fortunately, the glue hadn't set, so I took them out. Installed wider piece of the panel first, then used the remaining hole to draw the last shape.
Re: Slim THTLP
Looking good, Jens. Before you know it you'll be producing gut-rattling bass.
Those warped pieces are no fun. I've only ever built with ACX or BCX so I'm well accustomed to working with warp. By next few builds though will be with BB. I cannot wait!
I'm looking forward to you're review of the THTLP.

Hi Seth!
Thanks for checking up on me. Been on vacation for a week, and things have been busy since.
I filled screw holes yesterday (empty ones, and undersunk ones).
I will probably be attaching a part of the side soon probably the first time you'll see a half side on a THT

Re: Slim THTLP
I don't think I'll be able to sleep for at least 2 hours.
The stress!
As you know this side was warped too.
I placed it on the sub, and I was able to stand on it, without being able to "close the gap". I could just make it connect while jumping up and down on it. I had too use some pretty big screws to pull it tight - while standing on it.
But at least I won't be like "I think it's tight".
I know its tight. Photo documented. Plus I'm able to turn it, and chaulk all the joints with more glue, tomorrow.
Enjoy the inside view of the THT!

Re: Slim THTLP
Good luck. I've been following your build with interest.
I'm looking forward to your impressions of how it sounds.

Jens, I absolutely love that you're doing this in the middle of the living room and there's kids toys about here and there. Makes me think you probably could have got a wider cab to pass the war department's inspection after all. LOL
