Would a water based flexible acrylic decorators caulk be suitable for sealing under the handle flanges?

I'm using a BGH25 and an L-pad in my cabinet. Do I need to test the polarity of the BGH25 before fitting the L-Pad, or can I just connect the crossover to the + and - speakon terminals, the L-pad to the crossover output, and the L-pad + output to the red BGH25 terminal?

Read the bottom of page 19, and the top of page 20.

Thanks Bill.

I had read those pages. I wasn't sure if it was ok to switch the wires around if I already have the L-pad connected, or if I needed to do the test prior to fitting the L-pad.

You switch them at the driver, so there's no reason not to connect the LPad.

There's a better way to do it, now that I think about it. Get this app on your phone:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... ioanalyzer

Set it to Spectrum Analyzer, 1/3 octave, C Weighting, Slow Response. Download a Pink Noise generator, play it through your amp/speaker. Then follow the HF driver polarity test procedure. Whichever way the leads are connected that gives the flatter response result on the RTA screen is the way to connect them.

Excellent, thank you.

For questions like this it's best to start your own thread in the future. But, since we're already in...

Simplexx 2x12 Build with Beyma SM212's

For sure. Not only is it poor etiquette to thread bomb but you're far less likely to get answers when your specific question doesn't appear in the thread heading.

Understood, but thread bombing isn't the way to do it. Besides that there's this:

Well I've finally got my cab to a functional stage, the end is in sight
I am using a 3012HO and a BGH25 with Bill's crossover design and an L-pad..
I am getting a fair amount of hiss from the tweeter, is this normal, or have I messed up somewhere?
