Building my home theater rig, Tlah, Table Tuba
Re: Building my home theater rig, Tlah, Table Tuba
Made a little progress with my center channel speaker. Glued all the baffle parts together. Top bottom sides glued, test fit!!! Parts for filters on order. So far so good.

Progress on the center channel speaker. I have pieced the filter together. I wired up the tweeters and tested them. Getting closer!

So how does it sound? It sounds great. I am very pleased, the sound is smooth where it should be, sharp where it should be and the detail is high. This is exactly what I was hoping to hear!!!! I can’t wait to build the rest of this system

Is that some PL squish-out between the baffles there? Must not take stain very well. I know there's a different texture of DuraTex where it was painted over PL.
I can't wait to get my home theater built. And too see the rest of your builds. Good job

Re: Building my home theater rig, Tlah, Table Tuba
I have made some progress on my home theater/entertainment center. At this point I have fabricated the steel frame work for the book shelves. I have made some headway on the TLAH speakers. I need some more lumber. I will be starting on a table tuba sub soon. I ordered an MCM8” driver for it. More to come!

Yes it is PL, no it does not take stain hardly at all. In person it is not that noticeable, the picture I took really highlights it for some reason. Having the adhesive smeared like that is just laziness on my part. I had some gaps to fill and instead of properly attending to it I just smeared the Pl around and continued on.

WOW! I thought the last one was it. Done. Project complete. Which I thought was cool on it's own.
You're going big! Nice
The pic with all the tweets routed out... Too cool.

Re: Building my home theater rig, Tlah, Table Tuba
I finished the second Tlah cab. Been doing some listening. I was worried that running 16 tweeters per cab would put them on the bright side. To my satisfaction they sound quite nice. This is the best sounding equipment I have ever built. It also draws near the least expensive I have ever built as well. Now that is pretty special.
So question, I ordered an mcm8” driver for my table tuba but I just found out that these units are on back order until April. I do not want to wait that long. Does anyone recommend I use anything different than the Dayton DCS205-4 8” driver? The TT cabinet width I will be building will be 16” wide open access panel!
