3D printed BF Logo Badge

#1 Post by N.Webber »

I’m starting a XF412 build for a client (build report will be on a separate post..)
I want to add a BF logo badge on the front grill and as I lately made the plunge into 3D printing, it seemed like a perfect item to print.

The design is complete:

And this is the test print:

The badge consists of 4 parts: the BF logo letters, the base, the surround rim and the bracket.
The base has recesses for the letters and holes for the mounting bolts and the letters have recesses for the mounting bolts heads. The rim has a recess for the base.

The mounting bolts would be glued in place (with epoxy glue) before the letters are attached. All The rest are glued with superglue which bonds really well to PLA.
The bracket is designed to fit over the middle vertical bar of the grill frame of the XF412 but can also be used where there is no frame behind the grill/badge.

Overall dimensions of the badge are 125mm (5") by 78mm (3") Thickness is 5mm (3/16") The two mounting bolts are M4/25mm.

If anyone is interested, the STL files are available on thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4749716

Indeed. Couldn't have said it any better...
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

That's pretty cool. I made press-to-fit crossovers and the BFM logo with mine.

If that Israeli heat is too much for PLA; you can use PETG or ABS (which you can make glassy smooth with acetone)

I tired to like but their site is acting up
