Coaxial In A Horn

Eminence has these new coaxial drivers like the KappaLite KL3012CX-8 and wondering why no one has used these inside a horn. I asked around and pretty much the answer i keep getting is that a coaxial driver inside a horn will not yield good results.

Are there good reasons not to do this?
Lets just say I wanted to test the Kappa coaxial inside an OmniTop. Would I be wasting my time?

The T/S parameters of that driver are within the specs for an OT12. However, I'd be curious if there's enough mounting depth available in the cabinet to accommodate the depth of the LF driver with a high frequency driver screwed to the back of it. Interesting train of thought, for sure.

The coax horn would be blocked by the phase plug. Even if there was no phase plug the result would not be as good as according to the plans. Better results are had when HF horn drivers physically lead the woofers, not lag them. You also wouldn't have the arraying capability.
