So ive recently added 2 more tubas to my rig and ive got to say the bass response is disgusting in the greatest of ways. I only do sound for electronic music events.
99% of the time i have it set at 27hz on a 48db slope. however at the most recent past event i set it a 20hz which was pretty fantastic when a track was played that had that great big low end. The drivers survived the show so all good there but i'm wondering if i'm causing damage to the drivers

Re: T60 High-Pass
IDK, but if you bring that rig to the Hat during Ash's Easter show we can combine our 2 rigs for some real awesomeness !
Built:
17" width 10" driver Autotuba
2 x 29" width dual Lab12 Tuba60
6 x DR250 2510/asd1001
In progress:
2 x DR250 2510/asd1001
For best results, point the loud end of the array towards the audience

Re: T60 High-Pass
To have the same level of driver protection with a 20Hz high pass compared to a 27Hz high pass you'd have to halve the voltage limit.
Re: T60 High-Pass
Just out of curiosity, would the OP be better off setting a 24dB/oct @ 25Hz? Where would you recommend he high pass at, and at what slope?Bill Fitzmaurice wrote:To have the same level of driver protection with a 20Hz high pass compared to a 27Hz high pass you'd have to halve the voltage limit.

Re: T60 High-Pass
The recommended high pass is 25 to 30Hz, the ideal is 28Hz, if you have the ability to be that precise. The higher the slope the better.
