MDO?????

I was in my local big box store the other day grabbing some plywood for a project I am working on and came across some MDO.

I have never used it, but I did a little research on it and it seems like some pretty tough stuff. I did a search for it on the forum to see if anyone else had ever used it, but got a blank.

It doesn't seem overly expensive, but it is a bit heavy. Just curious what peoples thoughts are on using it for cabinet builds.

At least one outer surface/face is paper.
Since it is well stated in the forum not to use ply with a thin outer veneer (because that could delaminate), especially for sub builds, I would think it's not suitable...

Then there's the question of how the glue will stick to that surface. My guess is not well at all.

Seems the boat builders say it takes epoxy extremely well (penetrates the resin) but our PL Premium doesn't penetrate the resin so it floats on top and makes poor joints.

That's too bad, MDO is water resistant and has a beautiful finish for painting.

That sucks because it looked pretty decent for the money.

It's fine for a lot of projects.....just not speakers.
