Calculating max voltage for Drivers (ciare 12.00 sw)

Hello all,
I am trying to figure out which is the max voltage for the drivers I have mounted in a TUBA 30 in order to set the limiter's threshold.
the drivers are CIARE PW 12.00 SW 4 ohm, 1000W RMS / 2000W program with a Xmax of 11.5mm.
Looking at the max voltage given for other drivers in the plans and their respective specs I am a bit lost as to how to calculate / deduce the correct voltage for my drivers.
Another question concerns the amp I am using to drive the sub: CREST CPX2600, which delivers 900W per channel under 4ohms. I know there are warnings everywhere about bridging the amps, but since i have two of the cpx2600 I was still wondering if it could not be a good idea in this case, given the power handling capacity of the drivers… knowing that there would be a behringer ultradrive et to limiting the incoming signal…
many thanks in advance!
Regards,
Chritophe

The power handling in horn loaded cabs is not the same as what you would find in direct radiators.
Until you know the limit, don't bridge your amps.
Please link full TS parameters for your drivers so Bill can sim them to work out the voltage displacement limit

The voltage limit is determined by xmax, not Pe. The limit with the Ciare is 60v. At 8 ohms that's 450w. Drive it with 1000v and you will destroy the driver. That's the case in any cabinet, not just the T30. In a typical bass reflex cab the limit would be lower.

Many thanks for that!
I am using the 4 ohm version of the driver though, does that change anything in terms of max voltage? Still 60v ?

Take it down to 50v.

Thanks again for that.
Since i am at it and I don't seem to be able find the information in the documentation nor the forum, what is the max voltage limit to set for the
Deltapro 12a 450 (8ohm) mounted in a Omnitop 12 ?
Is there a formula that allows to calculate the max voltage?
Thanks and best regards from Belgium

Tops don't have the excursion issues that subs do, so you're generally OK to limit at Pe, although limiting at 1/2 Pe is prudent. That gives you a wide degree of protection, and worst case only costs 3dB of maximum output, which is insignificant.

hello
glad to see there are other people from belgium on the forum . there's a lot of knowledge here.
i have a t30 and love it.
good luck with the build.
