Traditional Amps for Subs

Hey,

I'm seeing more online about traditional amps being better for subs than the lightweight class D amps. I believe I've seen that here before too. If so, what would be some good ones to consider for sub duty, new or used? Any difference for tops?

I just came across this also, which I believe emphasizes it's more a factor of shorter cable than the amp itself.

Thanks!

Damping factor is a non-factor:

Speaker cables should be limited to 50 feet primarily to keep resistance and capacitance values low. Class D amps work just as well as any other for subs. It's the inadequate current capacity of some switching power supplies commonly used with inexpensive Class D amps that limits their performance.

This. The difference is audible. It's why I sell Ashly. They're a hybrid, with some iron in there.
