I've used lots of similar lifts in the past...usually Genie Super Towers... They work well, just keep in mind that they're often 500-600+ lbs each, are extremely top-heavy when moving, and have about two inches of ground clearance (so they don't work well for mobile rigs unless you have a dock height truck backed into a loading dock)...and forget about dragging them across a lawn, unless you have always wanted a hernia...

However, they work awesome in pairs, with heavy box truss spanning the gap. Lights and speakers hang from the truss, and both are cranked up at the same time. If you've got a flat area that you can roll the lifts to, they work well.

And you have to really be making major money from your gigs, to cover the cost. They are right around $10,000 each, but they come with the required engineers' CoC. IMHO, too much of an investment for us humble DIYers.

Genie superlifts are just about the same thing and go for $1500-$3000 used. They're not pretty and black but they lift 600-800lbs. Just sayin...

Not after a bit of modification. Bigger wheels, add some handles , casters, etc. They're bulky, but not too bad.

Not after a bit of modification. Bigger wheels, add some handles , casters, a few big underpaid guys that will cuss you out every time they see the Genies in the truck, etc. They're bulky, but not too bad.

There. I fixed it for you.

Yeah, they are cool looking...and they work well too.

Maybe Bill could come up with GenieLites made from 1/4 BB ply?
