New Gear!

Well, new to me...
I just got 2 lightly used amps off CL for what I think is a really good deal. For $200, I got a Crown XLS1000 and a Behringer iNuke 1000. Both have little to no rack rash and look cosmetically great. But I did break my rule. I didn't test it first. We met in a parking lot and the young guy was nice and everything checked out. I had a really long day and wanted to take a shower and rest badly. When I get home I'm gonna test em out. The Crown will be a learning curve to use. How well would it work with my Drive Rack?

Shouldn't be a learning curve on the Crown... the only real issue is whether you are running it stereo, Y input, or bridged. If you are using a driverack, no need to use any of the other DSP in that amp.
And don't rack the Crown and the Behringer together. Opposite airflow....

Oh, good to know. Never would've thought of that.
The plan is to use the crown for the subs. This is meant for a lighter mobile rig. Would I still need the drive rack for the tops?

The driverack controls the whole system....so yes.

How many T24's?
As to how well the XLS would do on sub duty will depend on how hard your pushing the system.
If it's one per channel, then you would need roughly 6dB on the brick wall limiter to reduce voltage to 35V.
But if it's a pair per channel, then it's a bit to close to the margin of the amps output limits to run them to max output for extended periods.
You should notice that the XLS 1000 only has peak limiter capability. That is not brick wall limiting...

Check my sig. I only have 1 T24 for now. I know if I ever build, say a T39, I'll need a bigger amp for sure.
Grant: All amps run 1 speaker per channel. I only play inside, so 2 tops and 2 bottoms. An amp for the tops and amp for bottom. I think I can flip the fan around on the berry. All my other amp fans blow out the back.
I played around with the crown's settings last night. Do you really think I need to turn on any other settings if I have the driverack?

No, just set it to Y input.....then you can add another sub and the signal will already be routed to the second channel.

I use a crown XLS 1500 to power 4 DR250's in stereo,i dont use any of the amps DSP features,i use the DSP in my dcx 2496.

So its more for the weigh savings than the features? I'm fine with that. I hate lugging my iron amps around.

Absolutely!
