High end security system.....you could follow them with the sound as well as catch them on tape.

Only use I can think of is inside an animatronic dummy whose head turns and you want the sound to follow the direction of the head, or some super- stupid Hi-Fi system which attempts to "optimize" the sound based upon where you sit in the room, by literally aiming the speaker at your head. Audiophiles have been sold so much crap in the last fifty years I would not be surprised if that was the design intent here.

I thought the answer to that is obvious: so you can get up and go to the bathroom and have the sound follow you there!

Craziness. Next thing you know they'll be coming up with some kind of full range transducers that clamp over the ears and go wherever the listener goes.

Where I live there is no violent crime because we all have a rifle or hand gun.
Cheap, proven results, and great fun for the whole family.

Reminds me... I've seen a LRAD used as part of a live "noise art" performance
Imagine having a 2 foot wide version of the above, swung around and beamed at the crowd
It was like a laser of noise

We can do that! The LRAD works on a similar function as a line array, just more like a 'point' array. Plain physics. Although we wouldn't be able to match the LRAD in output, we can sure work within the same realm of concept. The plans I have call for a 40 inch round device, though.
