Are these tweeters worth considering for BFM cabs ? I read a few links someone posted where Bill told someone to stick with the Goldwoods but that was over 2 years ago and since everybody is out of the Goldwoods until the end of the month :noob:

I don't know, but the remarks on Parts Express cast some doubt on their quality.

I have these in two melded arrays I built for a pair of DR250s. They are a bit more harsh, but seem to have a touch more in the 1-2K range. Once I run the auto EQ on the Driverack, they sound just fine. But I did have a lot more duds. Out of 60 tweeters, I had 17 bad ones.

I haven't had any issues with them. The piezo element is larger than the Goldwood (as shown on PE's picture) and has a lower rolloff. Quality seems to be the same as the goldwood. Ratio of good ones to duds is about the same as the goldwood. I've graphed both and the GRS isn't any peakier than the Goldwood.

I've tried both. The GW build quality seems a bit better, but the GRS' larger piezo element allows it to go a bit lower.

For something interesting, try a GRS back on a GW horn. If done a few tests of that "frankenpiezo" combination and the results a pretty good - they go lower in frequency and have a smoother passband response (the GW horn is better in some ways than the GRS one).
