13" AutoTuba

I had some extra wood from my last 5" TrT build, so I decided to throw together an AutoTuba. I repurposed an old 8" ported sub and its plate amp, so I didn't expect a lot, just for it to be better than the ported box it was in. I used 1 tube of PL, a combination of MDF and spare Baltic Birch I had laying around, and it took me about 7 hours from start to finish. Since I repurposed the driver and plate amp, this little project only cost me about $10 extra for PL and drywall screws.
Panels cut:

Base panel and access hole cut:

Panels 1-4 attached, yes I already attached the driver and mounted it from the inside so I won't ever be able to remove it. Sue me.

Ready for the final panel, yes the driver is woefully inadequate for a horn application.

Finished:

Impressions: Well, I'm not using anything close to the recommended driver, so my impressions of it are moot. The cheap, weak 40w driver sounds terrible compared to the recommended driver, but sounds much better than the original box it was in. This is a nice, small cabinet that would work well in a car. I gave this AT and plate amp to my sister, who has been cultivating an audio collection of her own. It's good for her room and won't be destructively loud.
