Hi from Worcestershire UK

#1 Post by Verb »

Hi folks,I'm a bass player and will be building a pair of Simplexx 1x12s at some point in the near future.I have some Kappalite 3012 HOs and APT 80s plus a shopping list for the rest of the parts.
I hopefully won't be too much of a pain in the butt with all the questions I will inevitably need to ask.
Cheers

WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

Hi Verb! Welcome to the forum! :hyper:

May I suggest that you change gears slightly, and build a Jack 12 instead. It will give you way more that the Simplexx 12 will, especially using the Kappalite 3012HO. I don't think you can (re)use the APT 80, but the recommended piezos are fairly inexpensive.
I know money often seals the deal, but seriously, quality is an investment, not an expense... Grant Bunter

You won't be able to mix the 2 types as they have differing phase response and that may lead to some frequency cancellation.

Jacks are by far the most common build for bass players here on the forum...
