Help Needed 6 Tuba 60's Wood Requirements

Firstly, I've never built a speaker before so I'm a little nervous investing my resources into something that I'm not 100% sure I can accomplish. However if I need help, I'll just have to find it. I'm building 6 t60s 27inch wide with Lab 15s. The plans called for 3 48x96 inch panels and so I went out and dropped $1k on wood. Well I got home and realized after entering dimensions and examining a few other build threads that it seems that I need more wood! All I need is another 6 60x60 sheet for each one but I wish it would have just said this in addition to the panels that are listed as necessary. Now did I miss where it said in the plans that I would need this additional sheet or is there some secret way to squeeze these panels. I can not see a way to pull off the 27inch version with only 3 panels, can we get this updated because it would have been really nice to have known this a little sooner.

It sounds like you didn't do your homework. If you've read through any of the builds, I'm sure you've read about a program called CutList. Don't sweat it, we've all made mistakes and had to make a second trip to the lumber shack.

Yep, it's not the end of the world at all, I just wish it had said you will need 3 48x96s and just one 5x5. Gahh Well, onward we march.

Hey dbarth,
If you haven't checked yet, Atlantic Plywood in Ashland should be able to set you up with BB 5x5 for ~$36/sheet. That's where I got my ply for my T48s. If you have any questions, you should still have my business card and/or contact info.
cheers.

Thanks so much, sounds like just the ticket for these last 6 sheets! I'm actually 20 minutes from Ashland so thanks for the tip! I have you contact info somewhere I think I was smart and put you in my google contact list. I don't feel 100% confident making these cuts on my own but I'm going to go for it. Might have somebody else cut the baffle out for the driver. Just going to take my time with this.

Yes, just take your time. Be absolutely sure of the setup before you cut.....and then cut it. When you measure that cut piece and it's within specs, you'll feel good and confident.

The Cutlist program is your best friend. Most of us here use it religiously. delphiforfun.org/programs/cutlist.htm
The learning curve is not steep at all and after fiddling with it for an hour you'll have it down. Be sure to buy an extra sheet or two of BB. Unless you have considerable woodworking experience under your belt (I did not) you will screw something up. Sometimes you can use that "Inch too short" piece for a different piece, but if you wind up needing a new, large sheet of BB and don't have it you'll kick yourself for being cheap. Ask me how I know.
