Do any of you provide live recording services? I own a Zoom H4n and had some one ask me if I would record their performance.
Its a small group of 3 to 4 I believe. What would be a reasonable price. I was thinking in the $35 to $50 range. I am no pro at this but
I have recorded my wife singing with a large jazz band and the end result was pretty darn good using the built in mice on the H4n.

If you are just gonna' stick the Zoom on a tripod in the audience - then yeah, $35 is plenty....because, it's not going to be a pristine recording. You'll have all kinds of crowd noise during the songs.

If you are going to hook up to the board and use mics, it's worth a little more.

We use a Zoom also as a tool to see how we played. To use it as much more is expecting too much. Plus, they could buy their own used for $100....or less.

Bruce, very good points. I totally agree. I know from my past experience when i have recorded a jazz band you end up hearing all the chatter in between songs, people coughing, etc.
I still don't have enough information about the equipment that this particular group is using, so I guess that is part of the equation too. Thanks for your input.
