Just ran it through my dynamic range analyzer and it's showing a clipped signal and crest factor of 9 dB.

Is there any way you could re-master it so it's not clipped? That, and if you you could ease off the compressor just a little?

An extra 2-3 dB out of the drums would be bad @ss. The material's not bad, reminds me of Pantera.

Not clipped... limited. Limiter is only taking off 2-3dB from the loudest snare hits. Much better than the typical 3-4dB DR in metal. Check out a random Through the Eyes of the Dead song, and get back to me.

Genre would be blues based rock.....with a little strange in there. Mostly light-hearted lyrics and two instrumentals.

We'll be selling them off the bandstand. Since we play mostly in Gruene at a place just down from Gruene Hall (look it up....oldest dance hall in Texas and everybody (yes, everybody) has played there). It's almost all tourists and they really sit and listen to the music, so selling some CDs should be pretty easy. Pay is pretty lousy, so tips and selling CDs have to take up the slack.

But, the real reason to record was to get the originals down for posterity. We ain't gettin' any younger.

I'll post some links when they are done.

A few of the originals we are recording are out on YouTube from a show in October that Miked videoed for us. Just search my name on YouTube, then click on my name when it comes up.

Are the drums real? Or samples?
The snare sounds ok, but the kick drum sounds a bit to clicky and lacking thump and definition IMO. I guess a one word definition would be "processed".
Just my 2c worth on that, but otherwise sounds good, I enjoyed it. I didn't hit the stop button lol.

About 40% of the bands I have played in (on drums) have done originals, up to 80% originals in one, but that was 80's pop and had a lot to do with booze, women and heady days.

I don't have stuff I can put links to here on the forum though sorry...

If you can't tell that the drums are fake, I've succeeded, lol.
I program all my drum parts by hand, using Superior Drummer for the sounds.
I love SD; the sound sculpting and mixing capability is 2nd to none.
The kicks in metal tend to sound extremely processed; it's part of the 'sound'. So, I try to get that sound if it works in the song. It feels good in this one, so that's what I did.
