What I find interesting about the Simplexx cabs

With the advent of the Simplexx line, we get to see how a competently designed bass reflex can perform. At least by the SPL charts, these cabs look pretty respectable in sensitivity at a reasonable size.
What excites me is the ability to see how much better Bill's horn-loaded designs work than the reflex boxes, and to be able to compare charts that have been prepared with the same methodology. Since I found this site, I've been skeptical of charts supplied by cab manufacturers. If you were ever wondering how impressive a J10 is, compare it to the Simplex 10 charts. After about 100 Hz, you can see where the horn kicks in and the J10 leaves the S10 in the dust. Throw the same 2510 in a DR250, and hold on to your hat (admittedly the DR250 is in a different size class) .
So I'm sure folks who aren't interested in building horn-loaded cabs are thanking Bill for designing an easy to build reflex cabs. I'd like to thank Bill for providing worthy reflex cabs to compare the horn-loaded lines to.
