hello
this weekend we had a gig that required a smaller sub than our t48's. so i came up with the idea to build a t30 loaded with the driver from my unused THT. the problem was i had only 4 days to build it and i had to go to work too :( . so this was kind of a rushed build to say the least. it's not something i would reccomend to unexperienced builders. i made a lot of stupid mistakes because things had to go fast and didn't take time to triple check things like i would normally do.
luckely i had all the hardware needed in stock. some nice bb 4x8 sheets , cornerprotectors for the delayed extra 2 t48 build, the driver from the THT . so i began ripping up the bb an we were of.

no leaks were found when testing the cab. it rocks the workshop . i knew these would be loud but i'm still blown away with the ouput this thing can produce with only one 12" driver. in a small room it has no trouble keeping up with the 4 behringers.
i thought i would at least need 2 to keep up . the plan is to eventually get 2 lab 12 loaded ones to be able to do outside gigs to.
these are 52 cm wide ( 20 1/2 " ) to be able to get 2 next to eachother in my van. it sounds as expected , clean and effortless.
and it turned out looking ok for a rushed build. i didn't had the time to put paint on for the first gig but my girlfriend has been tasked with that in the week to come. still thinking on how to put on a T30 BFM logo ( suggestions welcome )

Looks good Ketoet. What did you power it with?

other channel drives the behringer tops i use for the small rig.

Nice one Ketoet. Quick, clean and perfectly functional. I like the access cover profile only following the reduced chamber volume shape. :-)

Your rushed build looks better than my take-your-time T48 build. :loler: Nice job. LOVE that sliding table saw, BTW.

it seemed useless to to me to make the acces panel bigger than neccesary. i don't use the flanges either but route out half of the thickness of the side panel and half of the tickness of the acces panel edge . i have more room to install the driver this way.
the sliding table is a very handy machine indeed. no problem cutting up full sized 8x4 sheets of bb. i have acces to all the tools of my from my father and a good friend who are both professional carpenters. my friend has 2 cnc's i can use anytime. makes building cabs a lot easier if you have these fancy tools.

Quick question: In order to make the access panel sit flush with the side, you route out half the thickness of the side panel and then plane down the access panel to half it's thickness. That would make the access panel 1/4" thick. Don't you get flex in the access panel? 1/4" seems very thin for a cover that's under a lot of pressure. Just curious.

He only routes the accessbpanel where it overlaps with the flange part. The rest is full width

So, how did the gig go? And, how was the T30 in it's task?

BTW, congrats on the quick build.
