Anyone used Apogee SA series amps?

Apparently the SA series is the DA without the computer link system.
Quick replies would be great, I might have found a one off bargain.
At 27kg and 480W/4ohms, it's lighter than one of my failing Jands 35kg 450W/ohms amps.
TIA...

I'm not sure what your intended purpose is, but 480W@4 ohms is only about 44 volts output.

It's plenty for any of my BP loaded T39's, DR's, or my POS 15"s or Wedgehorns.
Have you used them?

No, I can't say I've ever used or worked on them.

Turns out there were 2 versions.
I have the first version and this amp, according to Apogee, is pretty much a Crest 4001.
Which makes sense since it has a Crest output card.
The later version was a proprietry amp.
It fair thumps for it's output and is 2 ohm capable, but with a noticeably lower voltage output at 2 ohms compared to the 4 ohm output figures.
So if you see them come up and don't mind old iron type weight, it's good enough to require limiting by a few dB to run 2 premium loaded DR250's a side...
