Was looking for an 8 channel preamp with adat for an RME system and found a local deal on this (with adat cards). Cheaper than two (used) ADA8000s. Anybody used one? He's the original owner and says it's in perfect shape. Was thinking I might use it for a small pa rig and the mix surface in my little studio. Thoughts? Should I wait for the ADA8200(?) or X32 compact for a good bit more? Course the X32 or presonus stuff doesn't have adat. He's selling it cheaper than the Focusrite or Presonus 8 channel preamps.

I like mine, keeps on going but the preamps are a bit crap and it is a little underpowered if you want to do lots of stuff on each channel.

Don't forget, it's a 10 year old mixer, processing for digital has moved on an awful lot since then.

Never used one but they're apparently ok to use and can be quite flexible. I haven't heard any horror stories so must be cool.

If ADAT is important Soundcraft 328 and XD (like mine) have two outs so you could do 16 ch into a recorder if required. Pre amps are good and EQ is sweet. Great live, I love my XD as it makes things easier in many ways.

Well, gonna go pick it up this afternoon. $350 sounds like a good deal on a digital board.

Well, I think I got a nice deal on a nice board! The seller played some tracks he'd recorded through the board and they sounded nice and clean. Has an ADAT card and a TDIF card.
