Yep, Peavey electric. Uncle gave it to me for Christmas about 10 years ago. Legend has it that Hank Williams Jr. played on it.

Acoustic is a Mitchell that my granddad gave to me 20 years ago. I've worn most of the frets down to the fingerboard, but it's still my favorite guitar of all time. I need to take it to Rockin Robin and get it re-fretted.

Not pictured: An Ovation acoustic/electric that I absolutely hate. Ex-girlfriend's dad let me "borrow". Kept it after stuff went south between me and her.

Purple Squire electric guitar with a Floyd Rose. I hate the Floyd Rose, but I love that it was free.

Come to think of it..... I've never paid for a guitar......ever!

Ovation...yuk....looks like the dad got the best of that deal by getting rid of it.

Thanks a lot, Grant. You took care of the describing what's going on with your DR250 build thread, so I thought I'd just post pictures of my guitars, but the cab kept getting in the way.

The nacelles weren't all that difficult to do once I wrapped my head around them. I used my cheap plastic miter box and back saw to cut them. Then the hypotenuse goes against the module sheath up to the prescribed line. The face of the nacelle ends up being parallel (or close enough for me) with the back of the module. Pretty ingenious design.

To attach them to the module sheath, I put on a latex glove and smeared just a light coat of PL on the nacelle hypotenuse with my pointer finger. Then just lined them up with guide lines I'd drawn (to keep everything square) and put a dab of hot glue on all four corners and mashed down until the hot glue set up. Then, just play the waiting game.

The next day I scraped away the hot glue, and tried to pry off each nacelle by pushing on them with my thumbs. They didn't budge. The plans call for drilling through the back of the module, into the face of the nacelles. I doubted the accuracy of my nacelle cutting and placement, so I set my 1/8" bit as shallow as I safely could and drilled through the face of the nacelle, into the back. I have a plumb bubble (which probably isn't very accurate) on my drill, so I used that to get the holes as true as possible. It worked pretty well.

Hello all. Nice work so far ncgrove. I am getting ready to start a build of two DR250s, and would like some advice on how much 1/2 and 1/8 ply to purchase. I don't see that specified in the plans as it was for the THT. Secondly, has anyone put together a cut list for the 250? With so many odd shaped pieces that may save some material.

Thanks. I'd think that three 5x5 sheets of 1/2" and one 5x5 sheet of 1/8" would be enough for two cabs. The 21"x21" pieces really burn through stock. Also, I have tonnes of scrap pieces from previous builds that I've been trying to use wherever I can. I'd recommend getting a few new jigsaw blades and 1/8" drill bits before you start.

I've never made a cut sheet before, which is probably one reason I have so much scrap.

Cutlist is the greatest thing since sliced bread. And it's free. Free bread!

These DRs are looking great! IMO it takes real skill to build these. I had a hard enough time with my OTops...think I'll keep watching from the benches on this one.

I used two 8 x 4 of 1/2" (You also use up some of that building a melded array jig and a zero tolerance cutting guide), one 8 x 4 sheet of 1/8" (had about 1/4 of the sheet left over) and, if you're also filling in the back of the cab, one 8 x 4 sheet of 1/4" (some of which you can use in the throat, I ended up with about 1/3 of the sheet left over) for 2 cabs.

Grant, how long did you leave the back half sheathes tied up before putting them on? I tied mine up yesterday afternoon, and this morning I was able to snug the rope holding them together a little bit without hearing little crackles in the plywood.
