So, guess who's more keen than me to start on the T45!?
Side one markup done, kind of.

Baby basshead, gotta love it! Protect his hearing while you can. Good luck on your build!

My 3-year old son has been helping me in the garage for more than a year now. It's interesting how when they see you concentrating and squinting over your ruler as you lay out the panel locations, they think you're "coloring." The exact moment when you have to be exact to a 32nd of an inch as to where you lay out the lines, they want to pick up a pencil and start drawing all over it. I have a piece of scrap ply that I keep for this purpose. He gets his own piece of wood. But at this point you can't see the wood anymore b/c it's all penciled-over.
It's great that the little man is showing an interest. Pass it along.

Looking forward to the build!

It's never too early to introduce the boy to power tools! Give him a belt sander to remove the pencil markings, and then he can start all over again.

haha I had EXACTLY that happen today, a perfect marking... then the decision was made to suddenly explode in a fit of excitement.
pannels 1 and 2 in place... now I need to go order some more wood as I've run out

this was using some spares I had, 1 more sheet will do it.

Haha, these things must be seriously cool to crawl around in as a kid...

So far, most entertaining build thread I've seen.

It reminds me of when my boys were young and always wanted to help.
I'd pick up a screw and the youngest would always say "can i give you the screwscrier daddy?".
Fun days. Enjoy it while you can lol...

He's only 20 months... so no power tools yet! He does like to try and unscrew anything that looks remotely like it could have a screw in it... or screw anything with a hole in it

where does he get that from?!

When my daughter was three she was already removing the hinges and knobs from the kitchen cabinets, to my wife's dismay. I found it interesting. Truly, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
The plus thing is that this develops the fine motor skills.
The one concern we had was that she like pushing things into the 120V U ground receptacles. So, one day I sat her down and did a little demo by shorting out 120V with a single strand of #26 wire. The pop, spark and vaporized wired must have made an alarming impression on her, because she never went near them again.

Years ago I accidentally shorted out the socket in our garage and it simultaneously blew out all the other sockets in the garage. Scared the life out of me!

arg! 2nd mistake... cut the hole in the spacer too big... oops. I measured the damn thing 3 times too! it turned out exactly flush with the gasket for the 3012lf, instead of slightly smaller. Is this going to be a major problem? I'm going to seal the outside+bolt holes with acrylic sealer anyway.. do you think I should re-do it?

I don't see any problem with it. Too small and the speaker hits it.
