Anyone here had any experience with these? Parts Express is selling them for a little less than the Dayton and Bash amps. The little bit I've read on them from users says they tend to have a bit more power in the low frequencies where the others start running out. They also have variable phase and boost or no boost models.

I'm using the 200 watt (35hz @ +6db) version for a home theater horn and I've had very good luck with it so far. The auto power on feature is very nice and works great.

Using the 300W, no boost version with my TAT. I've had it for just about a year now. Use it quite often. Works awesome. Plenty of power. Never really had to really go past half volume. Once I had it running for about 10 hours straight (long extended family party). Didn't break a sweat and just got mildy warm.

Anyone have a Yung amp and a Bash 300? How do they compare?

Anyone used these yet? I see they are on sale at PE for a reasonable price. Was looking to pick up one of the 500w models to power a TT.

Trying to decide whether or not to get the one with the 6db boost.

They work great. I got the one with +6db @ 35 hz to compensate for the falling response of the horn and because I like a nice fat bottom. Its personal preference really. +6db is no small gain though so make sure you really want it before going that direction.

They have no official subsonic filters, but a built in automatic limiting circuit which works very nicely. They dig as deep as you'd need or want.

Can't comment on the Bash comparison, don't have one.

The boost models moste definitely have a filter. the boost is the product of a hi q filter.

That's a different filter, I was talking about a subsonic filter.

its still a hipass filter, a high q hipass filter.

I'm just saying they don't mention having a subsonic filter anywhere. If response dips below 20hz that's fine with me as it protects my speakers.

response dipping below 20 is a subsonic filter.

I didnt see any non boost charts, although there is a graph of someone who both modified the hipass, and removed the boost circuitry (puts it about 1 db down at 20 with a 12 db oct slope)

That's a lot of great information.

I was looking at the SD500 since that's the one on sale at PE right now. From the charts that sine143 provided, it looks like the 500 has a boost at 25Hz and the 200 has the boost at about 35Hz.

Do you guys have any thoughts on using the boosted SD500 vs non boosted SD500 for a Table Tuba?

25hz is too low for the TT to have a 6db boost. You'd risk damaging the drivers easier. I'd go with the unboosted version.

What drivers are you using for the TT? 500 watts is too much for a single driver build most likely, dual premium 8's or 10's would be fine.

I have another HL10c I will be using for the TT. The plate amp is rated for 500w @ 4ohms but the TT will present an 8ohm impedance. I estimate the amp will have closer to 300w output with that load so I don't think it will be grossly overpowered.

Sounds like the non boosted version will be better - I don't want to kill the driver.
