Hello everyone,

This topic was supposed to start a little earlier but i had some unfortunate letters with
some bad news...Thats sorted now so here we go!

I am going to build a nice HT setup for my appartement. I can play really loud without
bothering te neighbours so i thought i would build:

2 x TLAH for the fronts. Floorstanding with 9x 5.25 Inch Woofers and 12 x Tweeters.
1 x SLA Curved Center. Also 9x 5.25 Inch Woofers and 9 Tweeters.
2 x MTM Surrounds with upward firing tweeters
1 x TT Subwoofer with a 10 Inch driver

After a lot of reading on the forum and seeing some very nice and inspiring builds
i started looking for drivers that would suit the build. And i wanted to stay within the
budget i had set for myself of about 6 Euro's for a set of tweeter and woofer together.

In the States this is an easy task because of MCM and Parts-Express but i live in the Netherlands.
Over here almost everything is a lot more expensive without good reasons for the increase in price.

After some heavy searching (litteraly days and nights..) i found some interesting drivers by a company
called Dynavox. They sure looked the part but it was a nightmare getting some parameters for them.
At the same time i needed some cheap piezo's to fix the speakers from a friend so i bought a pair of 4 inch
Dynavox DY-101 at the same time..saving in shipping from Germany.
I started the process of breaking them in to get some measurements of these ultra-cheap drivers. They are
5 Euro a pair! I also hooked up with Patrick Mos who was going to build some Purple SLA's.
His topic is at: http://billfitzmaurice.info/forum/viewt ... 13&t=19369

While doing the research i stumbled across some germans who already had measurements for the 5.25 Inch version
and these seemed very suited for this project. So i started the search again, this time setting an even bigger goal.
1 x Tweeter and 1 x 5.25 Inch Woofer for less than 5 Euro's. A daunting task!
But anyone who knows me and my skills as a trader/scavenger knows its never impossible! :)

After some mailing and getting quotes i got the Dutch importer to allow us to buy from them (Patrick is a business owner).
This got us to the desired price-point, but we had to buy a lot of drivers..thankfully our plans require a lot of them
so this was not a problem.
But without having measured them ourselves it was a bit of a gamble..

More to come..also have work to do..

That sounds like it will be one potent setup and should be fun to build. Def. keep us posted!
