Re: Hello from Southwest United Kingdom
Well, its been a busy old time for my credit card.
Over the last few days I've been shopping, and bought the following, to start my adventure.
JBL MPX1200 Amp
2x LAB12's
Tuffcab speaker cab paint 2.5L
Drum of 50m 2.5mm2 speaker cable
Behringer DCX2496 (new)
Behringer DEQ2496 (used)
M6 T-Nuts
40x Monacor MP16 tweeters
I still need to pick up:
Speakon sockets
Screws
Recessed castors
Handles
Ply
Expanding glue shit
Resin for t-nuts
______
Im starting with a pair f T39's - The system is desperate for bass, I'm going to have to knock out a pair of OT12s pretty soon after, the cheap Gemini (EON copy) won't keep up with titans! (plus they sound horrid)
Let the games begin !

I bet BFMer's are responsible for half of Behringer DCX and DEQ sales, hahaha, just kidding. But seriously though, I have the DCX and once I went Analog inputs on it I haven't had a problem with it.Chris_Allen wrote:Looks like a good start to me....

Re: Hello from Southwest United Kingdom
As we fast approach 2014, my plan to have my T39's built before Christmas fell apart, I had planned on rattling down the events hall for a NYE party for Hospital Radio, to help build funds, but sadly BFM will not be making an appearance, I'll have to sit back, and listen to KAM/Soundlab/ToysRus scream at people with horrible highs and distortion.
On a positive note, I aim to start my build very soon.

Im also trying to work on the wife, and add a drill press, and a Triton Workcentre 2000 system (its a table that a circular saw slides in, and you can fit a router to another top to have a router table too)BassheadUK wrote: JBL MPX1200 Amp

Forget the bits in last sentence (*), just bloody start!
(*) you only need some (not all) aspects of these things. A supportive wife helps.

You can certainly use the DEQ (assuming you have it) to tame the response of the speakers you already have to make them sound a lot better!!

Yep, thank you, its in my bedroom much to the annoyance of the wife, along with the DCX, I had the ECM8000 too, but sold that through my business, so now i need to order up one or more!88h88 wrote:You can certainly use the DEQ (assuming you have it) to tame the response of the speakers you already have to make them sound a lot better!!
I have everything to build, i've even been sorting out the garage ready.
One question regarding cultist, I am sure its correct, but the measurements given on the T39 plans, it gives one side of the measurements needed, and the other is down to my specification, so for example given 39" - if I was making 20" units, that measurement becomes 39x20.
I have since sold my 1999 Volvo V70 that was going to be used as a van, and bought a 1996 Range Rover P38 (4.6 HSE for the car fans) so, probably going to go as wide as possible meaning I can get two in the car

Using your example:
If you want a 20" cab, then X (panel width) = 19"

Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

Hello, Last around about 6 years ago
I built my T39's which got used at 2 events, and have been sitting in the garage ever since!
I lost all my plans on an old computer sadly, so need to figure out which tops I'd like to build and re order them plans again!

Yeah PA.
Back in 2013 I ran my Lab12 T39s with Mackie 450 v2's and they seemed to cope fine with dance/trance music. Planning on the odd family disco of oldies/pop/rock n roll too

The simplest top is the SLA, but the drivers might cost you the same, or more, as just one driver for the OTop12. You could also try the OTop8

Re: Hello from Southwest United Kingdom
Well it's been a long time since I was here. And I couldn't remember my details to log in as my previous name so I'm back with this one.
Lots happened since building my Titans. I've moved house and couldn't take them with me and as they were almost but not quite finished, I took the Lab 12s out and scrapped the cabs.
So I'm back where I started again wondering if I should build some Tubas this time.
I'm no longer in the South West either I'm now in the North East.
On and my baby boy, was 10 this year!
