need help find rabbet bit

#1 Post by Billy Joe »

I am building a t18, and i am going to do an inlaid access cover. The plans say to rout a 9/16 channel around the cover, but i can't find a rabbet bit that big. Any suggestions. Thanks.

Use a 3/8" or 1/2" mortise bit, use two passes, limit the router cut width with a guideboard or one of these, set to stop the router base:

The mortise bit was my first choice. I just thought maybe there was rabbet bit big enough to do it. I hope i don't screw this up to bad :fingers: Thanks for the help.
