Ive always used standard pl premium 3x adhesive. I noticed some 8x str pl premium labelled "fast grab" for around the same price. any advantage behind it?

I believe there was a thread about this a while back, and the 8x doesn't ooze out quite as much as the 3x IIRC.
I believe the consensus was to stick to 3x as a general rule...

I personally like the 8x better. It's not quite as "runny" and is somewhat cleaner to work with. It still expands nearly the same too, maybe slightly less but plenty adequate.

I used PL advanced before which is probably the same as 8x vs premium is 3x. As Ryan pointed out, less oozey, sets quicker. On the down side it seems to set harder, less flexible. That may lead to failure in a oops situation being possibly brittler. Haven't had an issue with my build with it yet.

I've used pl advanced once, to repair masonry works. If I'm correct, pl advanced is gray in color, doesn't expand mucch and is more targeted for masonry. Can't comment on pl fast grab 8x though. But it is significantly more expensive IIRC.

Stick with 3x. 8x doesn't ooze and fill gaps as much and is like concrete when it dries, nearly impossible to chisel and sand. Trust me when I say 8x is a PITA.
