How Often Do You Check CraigsList?

Just out of curiosity, do any of you check your local CraigsList frequently? I came to realize on Saturday night that myself and a few buddies may have an addiction... Personally, I check it soon as I get to the office, around lunch, before I leave work, and before I go to bed. Almost a habit. Many of my buddies are just as bad. One of them said they just bought a trailer for $800 on Friday night, and two other guys said, "I saw that pop up," one guy said, "I called about it, but it was sold already," and yet another said, "I was the guy coming to look at it. Prick." We then commenced on talking about the different items we had bought or sold recently on there.
Take today for instance... Here in about 30 minutes, I'm going to pick up a QSC USA 850 and a Yamaha EMX 5000-12... both for $75. It was listed less than an hour ago...

I am constantly on CL.
I found my truck on CL, my handicap scooters on CL, and I am currently searching for a class C motorhome!

About two months ago, I listed my truck on there. Had probably 20 emails in 8 hours, and 10 phone calls. Was busy that night already, so I started scheduling slots for the next night. Next day, people started getting anxious about it, so I took a half day to go empty it out. Drove it to the gas station to put a few dollars in it for test drives. Old man at the gas station asked how much for it, told me to meet him at the bank, and handed me the cash and I handed him the title. He called to ask what a wire was in it a week later, and I talked him into buying a drop kit I had for it. That was too easy of a sell, since I told him $1,000 more than it was listed for on CL... And on CL, it was listed that it came with the drop kit.
I almost... almost... felt guilty.

CL hasn't caught on here, we are stuck with a bogged down, lame local version that everyone here uses/loves. I miss CL dearly, missed connections are the greatest thing since folded horns.

Lot's of good deals on CL. Problem is you can go broke saving so much money. Bought some tools last year and a fretless Yamaha bass a few months ago. Some things better to buy used, some things better to buy new. In any case, I'm at a point in life where I'd rather get rid of things instead of acquiring more. So to answer your question not very often. Haven't used CL to sell stuff yet.

If you have an Android phone, the "CraigsNotifica" app is really handy. Not sure if there's an iPhone equivalent... You can enter a bunch of search terms and it will scrape CL all day long for the searches you've entered, and then give you a notification on your phone when a posting matches. It's really great for jumping on stuff quick without having to be browsing it all the time...

I use it all the time. I got alot of great deals, being broke helps you with a keen eye for bargains. Hell that's why we build our speakers (not to mention the quality and efficiency).

I'm on ebay daily, and check Gumtree often as well. Collecting old video equipment is a new and expensive hobby

Also always try searching for Eminence drivers in the hope a bargain appears

YUP daily just like bitsmasher says...punch in "Eminence" "Qsc" etc. and the hunt begins...have sourced 12 JBL 2206 h's used but in brand new condition( @ $50 each/retail @ $450 each) a savings of $4800. 2 eminence Kappa pros un-used (@$75 each) a $150 savings. 2 18" eminence kilomax drivers in cabinets from band breakup only used twice(@ $150 each/retail@$299 each) we call that a two for, with cabinets thrown in....so yeah CL is in someways my personal supply outlet.always bring your own test eqipment to the buy,you want to test everything brfore you exchange funds(or fun tickets when spent on CL finds)....happy hunting

Charity stores also get visited regularly, about to drop in to Salvos this morning actually

Grant, have you been to
http://tinysgreenshed.com.au/ ?
Canberra's high disposable income make their 2nd hand stores a goldmine for high quality junk! Check out some of the pics on their
Facebook page. A Juno106 sold for $400 last month
