Does anyone remember the Yamaha S4115H cabs?

These were my first experience with horn loaded speakers and they blew me away. They are also 120lbs. each! I had two in my bedroom when I was in high school powered with a Sansui G-9000DB. I cranked them up once as loud as I could stand in my room, and walked down the street and could still hear them a block away.

I also had them in the back of my Cherokee when I got rear ended at a stoplight by some drunk going about 50 mph. The cabs kept the back from crumpling, and the extra 300 lbs probably didn't hurt. Car was totaled, but I got the guys from the fire truck that showed up to pop the rear hatch off and we pulled them out. The Yamahas still worked just fine afterwards, although I got rid of them.

Years later, I miss having something so powerful, so I'm thinking about building a pair of J12s. The SPL charts for the J12 show that they should absolutely spank the Yamahas. It will be nice having to worry about if cops are going to show up at parties again. The extra bonus is that two J12s should weigh less than half of the S4115H, and be about half the size.

Are you saying you want to build the J112's so you can get the cops to show up at your parties? If so, just buy donuts, it would be cheaper.

True story (though I wasn't there):

A friend of mine was pulled over driving a spankin' new '69 Caddy. The cop told him, "I pulled you over because you didn't to switch to low beams after the top of that last hill. I see your eyes are bloodshot, have you been drinking?"

To which he replied, "I see your eyes are glazed over, have you been eating donuts?"
