Right now the only amp I have is a home theater amp that puts out about 120w per channel. Would it be possible to use this to power a DR200 or two until I can buy a dedicated power amp?

Are you thinking monoblocks. Cause what you just described is a dedicated amp.

The model is a Pioneer Elite VSX-72TXV. I guess to be clear I realized it is not exactly a standalone amp but rather a receiver.

Yes it will work and it won't hurt anything. I would only use it for temporary and non pro applications. I didn't read about the receiver much, but I would assume it has an auto eq , use it because the DR's require eq to make them sound right.

Yeah, the speakers are just going to be going into my warehouse for now. We will be doing some outdoor parties later on which I of course would need a pro-amp with more power but for now it would be great to be able to listen to the speakers for indoor parties without worrying about whether or not I am hurting my speakers.

Yeah, the receiver came with a microphone and has an Auto-EQ system. Not exactly sure what it all does but it sure made my home theater system sound a lot better than when I first hooked it all up.
