Portable Boombox (ice chest boombox)

Hello all,
A friend showed me some boom boxes he built out of an ice chest, radio and speakers, powered by a 12v batt. I looked online and there are tons of different ways to people are making these. So I thought to my self, I can build one of these easy.
But then I kept thinking:
1. Should I build one out of an ice chest with some cheap marine speakers (like everyone else)
2. Should I incorporate what I have learned on this forum and use some 4"-6" woofers (maybe and 8") with a small array of tweets and a Xover, with a sure 2x100 amp and a car stereo.
3. Another option I was thinking about is to build a jack 10 with an incorporated base and top compartment to hold a battery, stereo and amp. I would incorporate some wheels and make a dolly to roll it around.
I purchased the CD before the Jacks were around so I don't have the plans for them yet, but do you all think that option 3 would work? I want good sound with the ability to get loud if needed.
I searched for boombox and found a few references.
Has anyone built something like one of these?
