Changing AC Line voltage for Crown XTi 2002

Our band leader is on a cruise in LA at present and I asked him to pick up a Crown XTi 2002 amp there as he will not have to pay freight on returning to NZ. That way, it will be a very economical buy for me.

The question is that the Crown amp manual says "AC Line Voltage and Frequency Configurations 100 VAC, 120 VAC, 220-240 VAC 50/60 Hz". To me that means that the amp can be configured ( probably by changing the transformer tappings inside the unit ) without us having to order a special 220-240V AC unit for NZ.

Am I correct and has anyone had to do this? Is it a simple task like it was for my Eden WT500 ( take the cover off, change two wires and I was done )

I'm under the impression these newfangled class D switchmode supplies chop up whatever AC volts you put into them into hi frequency bursts and put them back together in time as DC. Another school day.

My XTi 2000 just had a run-in with thermal protect, and wouldn't power up again (the lights would blink, then the unit would shut off).

I have it cracked open right now, and I see nothing that you can really change out, nor is there any reference in the manual. I seem to recall one of my old Crown amps had an actual switch for it. On the back of this unit, it says "120-240VAC" next to the IEC plug. The manual says:
You must operate your amplifi er from an AC mains power
source with not more than a 10% variation above or a
15% variation below the amplifi er’s specifi ed line voltage
and within the specfi ed frequency require ments
(indicated on the amplifi er’s back panel label). If you are
unsure of the output voltage of your AC mains, please
consult your electrician.
I'm thinking Greg is correct... but what do I know? Some pics for reference (bottom left is IEC plug):

On a good note, after disconnecting the ribbon cable and pushing it back in, the unit powers up properly now. I hope that's all it was.

They do it automatically.
