Questions around amps for the Tuba HT

Hey everyone,
About a week and a half ago I started building the Tuba HT (first enclosure I've built) and it looks like I'll be sealing it up this Saturday. But I'm having issues deciding on an amp...
First, i was going for the O-Audio 500w bash amp. But then I read about the boost that the amp gives depending on what the subsonic filter is set to. Pretty much the only negative thing I have seen though with this plate amp...
My next choice was to buy a PE 500w bash amp and then add an EQ down the road (possibly eq.2). But from what I have read, the PE 500w bash will start to roll off around 30 Hz, unless I change out the resistors.
I was also thinking of going with a Behringer EP4000 with a dsp, but I am worried that the fan will be to loud (though I could do the fan mod).
The last amp I have been looking at is the Crown XTI2000. I really like what I've seen with the Crown so far, but I've seen some tests that show (at least for the xti1000) that the output is considerably less in the 20 to 40 hz range. But I've heard that this one isn't to loud compared to the ep4000 and like the built in dsp.
So I'm pretty much stuck on what amp to go for. I may be building another Tuba HT, so I like the idea of buying a pro amp now and not having to worry about buying another plate amp.
I would appreciate any ideas or recommendations!
