xti dsp, flexibility?

Hello, ive read the manual but couldn't find info, is it possible to set both HP and LP filter(say 35 and 100 hz) on the powered output for sub duty, and leave everything above 100 to the link out for sattelites?

If I want to power both subs and tops with the powered output but use the same x over settings as above, how am i able to cross the tops at100 simultaniously with the subs if there only are 2 powered outs? Is this possible?

The link out does not output the processed signal.

As for running the subs and tops, you have to run mono and run tops off one channel and subs off the other channel. Many people here do it this way. But if you want to add more amps, then you would have to get more xti's to internally process the signal or a all-in-one to feed a processed signal to each amp.

So this ruins the whole meaning with stereo setups? It seems that the dsp of the xti is too limited for my use then, I want the dsp to be able ro effect the link out as well to preserve stereo image and cross at 100 for use with my jbl Actives.

Hardly any DJs on here run stereo to the tops as it would be "beneficial" to about 5% of the audience if they stood still. Or live sound for a band come to that. A band I was in moons ago played around with it briefly. Dave Gilmour probably does it live for panning tricks but a PITA for us mortals.

Woah. Don't say hardly any DJs on here run stereo. A lot of us do. I doubt that 95% of the audience can tell the difference, but that 5% that can is the reason I'm in the business, and they're also the word-of-mouth that gets me repeat gigs. Also, having a full stereo signal path means I've got redundancy at every stage, so if worst comes to worst, I can reconfigure and run mono if something goes out.

Each channel can have independent DSP settings.

You can set the amp to sum the left and right inputs. Then set a highpass/lowpass on one channel for the sub, and a highpass on the other for the tops.

If you must run stereo, you'll need 2 amps. Run one in parallel mono, with the highpass/lowpass for the subs. Run the other with a highpass for the tops.

Either way, you'd set the EQ as well.

Can I use dsp processing on the line level link outputs?

It is a Line Level Link. So no.

If you're running out to active JBL's they may have a low-cut switch which will do well enough to integrate tops with subs. May be down at 75Hz or 80Hz, but it's better than nothing. Then again, may be higher as well. Take a look. In that case, run the full-range unprocessed link-out from the amp to the JBL's. Leave the amp in stereo and process the 2 sides identically for mono subs, or physically bypass one side of the amp entirely and use the dsp in the XTI to parallel the signal across both channels.

Only other option is to do it with outboard processing. If it's only for crossover purposes then a used analog crossover would cover your needs just fine.
