All DIY, all the time.....Rig is finished.

It's now official, no more "store bought" speakers in the rig. All DIY including the rack.....and speaker cables, mic cables, etc. I've got a little over $6k in this rig. Couldn't have bought anything close for less than $12k.....and it might not have sounded as good.....and I damn sure wouldn't have been setting it up right.
Thanks to Bill and all of you for the help along the way. Now, what do I do with all the left over speaker stuff? Jigs, spare parts, mattress topper, pet screen, etc?
Yeah, I know - build something else. Bound to be some knuckle-dragging bass player that needs a Jack12, right?

I resemble that remark.

But I already have two.
Nice rig btw. I've been watching your progress for some time. Impressive work.

I am so sorry, Bruce, but I must inform you.... you have a terminal case of DIY-BFM!
Um, looks to me like you need another pair of T39s!

Oh man! Those wedge 10's luke HUGE compared to everything else. I pretty much know the scale since i built otops and t39's. While my jack10's are just slightly smaller than the otops, my wedge8's are tiny in comparison to anything else. Hell, they're probably even smaller than my slapros which i just wired up for testing purposes. Glad I never decided on those 10" monitors.

They are big, but not any bigger in volume than the Yamahas they are replacing. The Yammies are shorter, but longer. But, most importantly - the WH10s are lighter.....and now I'm finding that they go lower. I'll post a review in a few days.

Actually, playing the stuff that we do - the pair has been fine. We played outside for 400 last week with no problem. The extra OT12s really do help the mids. Vocals just sound better with two per side and I don't worry about blowing one up.
And, there just ain't no mo' room in the trailer....

Shorter (less height) Longer (more width)
But, I see your point.....

Bruce,
Congrats on the completion of the WH10s and the whole BFM rig, looks clean and pro.
Maybe it's only me (or just out of the picture), looks like the rack could use some casters…

Funny you mentioned that…
Early this week I (also) did a side by side comparison with another commercial 15" wedge (the HK CT115)
with the same conclusions. I'll post the report later.

Thanks.....
And you're kidding right? A lazy old fart like me not having casters? They just don't show up in the picture. Of course, as I try desperately to be conveniently absent when the loading starts - it matters more to the guys actually moving the gear.

Don't lie, I saw you moving that stuff last week.

+1 on that.
At this point (what's it been...like 4 years)...I can even improve crappy PA systems just by moving some parts around and setting up proper gain structure and turning on the limiter.
