Help setting up..

#1 Post by chris350 »

so heres what I have

Berhringer EP4000
Berhringer EP2500
I just purchased a DBX Drive rack PA plus, on its way.. should be here by friday.
I have two jack 10's ( Omni top under construction )
and four Tuba 30's (3012LF)
also I have two tuba 24's with BP102's
this is for DJ/ recorded music..

I was wondering what settings i should use on the DbX for optimal sound . I may not use all 4 tuba 30 at once.. just two.
I noticed that the DBX is programmed with amps and such.. our boxes will not be listed.. and i think berhringers are not listed...what to do..?

Get an RTA mic and use the EQ wizard on the driverack.

There are cheaper ones out there, but I've used this one with a driverack - it works fine. It would be a good investment for you if you aren't experienced enough to set it with your ears yet.

Of course, you'll need to set the crossover point and the limiters. The crossover will be dependent on what set up you use - number of subs, etc., but probably in the 90-110hz range I would suppose with Jacks.

At least go get a cheap voltmeter. You'll need it to set your limiters for your subs. The driverack isn't hard to learn, but it takes awhile to get used to going through the menus.
