I just picked up an early model (2/2007) XTI4000. When powering down it makes a decent pop through my T24s (Small one on startup). Is that normal? I do not have the same pop on my XLS1500. Thanks!

What is your power up/down sequence?

Your amps should be the last thing on and the first thing off. If you have the amps on a power conditioner with other gear - still turn off the amp power, then turn off the strip. Reverse that when turning on.

There should be no pop - typically, that comes from the mixer or other processing gear.

Hey Bruce, Good news! I got the HiQnet band manager installed, it did a firmware update. After that update, no more pop! Crown must have fixed it early on. This was second hand and was probably never updated.

Glad you got it figured out.
