For close to the same money (or maybe even less) you can build a 24 channel SAC rig, which will have far more power.
You can also buy several other 24 channel mixers from major brands for the same money. My experiences with Behringer mixers has been quite poor.

I've never had any trouble with Behringer mixers I've used before. Maybe I like to live dangerously...but so far so good for me.

I've not heard much about the SAC rig, tell me more. What are some other options around that price?

Quite an active user base, too. Feel free to register on the forum and ask around.

there some things behringer definitely gets right on the performance and price, but their mixers are definitely not one of them.
Alot of the start up bands we gigged with had them and they all had something wrong with them. Not mention I hated mixing on those things.

+1
I have one sitting behind me that is there for a "just in case my backup fails" that has intermittent problems. By far the best "bang for your buck" mixer on the market is the Allen and Heath MixWiz. 16 channels, 6 aux sends, built in effects, rack mountable and can be found used in the $600 range.
