Ya'll with work/cargo vans. Can you find me a dimension?

Any of you guys have work/cargo vans for transporting gear, like a chevy express, ford E or old dodge ram van?

I wanted to know if you could measure the amount of space between the 2 front seats, minus the arm rests or whatever else that is easily removable. I'm building a rack for my amps and it is 23" wide in its shortest dimension (a 24" cube +/- an inch) and want to know if it would fit up there between the seats (which would be perfect). Compression of the seat cushions is ok.

I used to have a ram van but it got totaled in June, or else I would check myself. I looked online and couldn't find these dimensions. Thanks for any help!

i get 18 1/2" between each seatbelt housing(hard plastic...no give) 98 ford E150 cargo van..

youd have to go wide above that (stepped) or keep it below the seatbelt housing as that is 23" (the actual seat frames at the floor) mine has 5" from the floor to the bottom of the seat belt housings that stays 23", above that you have to narrow it to the 18 1/2"
hope this helps....

I drive an 05 Chevy Express. Let me get to a stopping point and I'll measure it fer ya.

EDIT: well dadgummit, consarnit, and dagnabit. Went out to measure the van and couldn't find my tape measure. I feel like a boob.

If you can wait till monday, I'll bring a tape measure from home and measure it.

Sorry, man. :/

Thanks so much guys.

Shane that would be great if its not a hassle, but it looks like i may be at a lost cause here. I may just rip the passenger seat out when i have money to buy one of these again, or get an extended cab.

Thanks!

Ok, got your measurements. My '05 Chevy Express van measures 19.5" from seatbelt mount to seatbelt mount and 17.5" from seat back lever to seat back lever. The seat back levers are on the inside of the seats in the Chevy's instead of the outside but they can be removed easy enough with a small Torx screw (T20 or T25 I believe.

Hope this helps. :)

Sorry, mate. The steering wheel is on the left side, as it should be in a van. If it had been a lorry, the steering wheel would be on the right-hand side!
