This the one I was looking at. I have also seen it much cheaper than the MSRP listed. I know nothing about them so I am hoping someone here might. http://pyleaudio.com/itemdetail.asp?bra ... el=PDG2000
I really like the sensitivity meters. Wish more amps had them or volt output meters.

Thanks gang!

Anything that quotes peak power figures is something I would be wary of. :(

Good amps aren't distinguished from the masses by how well they work when everything is just right, necessarily. They are most distinguished by how well they can handle electrical situations that are FUBAR, and still remain serviceable afterwards.

'Pyle' and 'Professional' should not be used in the same sentence. Avoid anything Pyle.

If you are familiar with the term POS, the P can be "piece", "pile" or "Pyle".

Just to play the Devil's Advocate.... same could be said for Behringer and yet there are a few items in their inventory that are outstanding. EP amps, couple of XM microphones, the dcx2496, v-amp series.... and afaik the entire rest of it is proper shite.

I know a single review doesn't make a product hit but it may be worth looking into further.

At least Behringer makes what they sell. Pyle doesn't. They're strictly a marketing company that sources everything. Good luck if you ever need service.
As for this amp, 4 rack spaces and 44 pounds is well suited to duty as an anchor. There are too many good amps available at good prices to try and save what you'd spend on a decent dinner on junk.

That's pretty much my thoughts about Pyle as well. Maybe 1 step above Pyramid..lol. I think I'll stick with my original plan and use Behringer for now until I can get better. I have a couple Behringer pieces and have had zero trouble with them.

Whoever thought the day would come when we see a Behringer knock off? I suppose this speaks for both the Europower line of amps and how Pyle operates...

Or perhaps Uli makes them for Pyle because he knows full well if Pyle has a China manufacturer rip off his design which is closely emulating the QSC design in the first place there is probably nothing he can do about it. Pyle offers Uli to pay him for the design and Uli refuses.Pyle markets anyway and Uli sues Pyle. Pyle continues to market their version after paying Uli.

Either way Pyle wins because Uli still is being paid for the design only one way it costs more due to litigation.

Cheaper just to sell your borrowed technology.

FWIW QSC really has no dog in the fight either because the RMX and other series actually use old Crown technology in their PS and Output schemes anyway. The patents on the Crown Technology have long since run their course anyway and you dont see crown crying now do you. Crown is the only one using their latest technology "I" Class designs and I would suspect as soon as that runs it's course someone will be picking up that technology to use anyways.

I think Gerald Stanley from Crown probably holds the most used Patents in AMP technology today.

We all benefit because now you can purchase within your budget and still get acceptable results even with some of the lower pieces on the food chain.A lot of the equation comes down to reliability and how "throw away" your purchase can be.

If I'm buying I Techs I would expect many solid years of performance in order to recoup my investment and actually profit from it as well.If I'm buying Behringer I'm probably hoping to simply recoup my investment period. Anything more is icing on the cake.

Most people will buy according to their business model. Few buy just because they have enough cash to do whatever they want and few buy the cheapest because that's all they have to work with. Either way there is probably something out there for any budget.

Pick your poison!
