Crown XTi 2000 not biamping

I have 2 Tuba 24s daisy chained off ch1 and 2 OT12s chained on ch2. I'm also using the speakon outputs only. (I like making diagrams)
Ch1 —> Tubas
Ch2—> OT12s
When I turn the volume knob all the way down on Ch2 the OT12s are still playing loudly, and get louder when I increase Ch1's volume.
I've double checked my wiring so it's not that. Is there a bi-amp option I missed in System Architect? What could be wrong?
Thanks

go into system architect. basically, since you are running mono, the knobs affect both channels at the same time. In order to balance the otops, you need to pull the channel 2 volume slider down to the correct level.

What if I changed the input setting to stereo and sent to both ch.1 and ch.2 the same mono audio signal. Would that make the volume knobs independent? Using system architect to adjust volume levels is kind of a pain.

Dual mono, input y should do it.

If I remember right you just use input 1 on the amp and make sure you've selected the crossover option in SA. Ch 1 output lows - ch 2 output highs

From my understanding input y does this:
INPUT Y (Ch. 1 input signal goes to Ch. 1 and Ch. 2 output.
Ch. 2 input signal is ignored.)
The signal I'm sending to the amp is
Ch1 = L
Ch2 = R
Wouldn't input Y only send the Left audio signal to both outputs? I'm trying to figure out how to send the same mono signal to both inputs. I'm playing music out of my computer, here's a diagram of my set up
{Computer} — stereo headphone jack to RCA —> {CleanBox Pro Ch1 & Ch2 out} — XLR (for each channel) —> {Ch1 & Ch2 input XTi 2000}
The most common solution I've seen to this problem is to buy a male stereo jack to female mono adaptor from Radioshack. This however might degrade the signal because the combined left and right signals might phase each other out at certain frequencies.
I called Crown this morning and the IT guy told me that Input Y would make the Ch2 volume knob not work.
Any ideas?

Use mono summed, not input Y. Then you just set the level where the Otops are balanced (with my system its about -9 to 11) and then your knobs will turn the whole system up, in a balanced fashion.

I guess the easiest way is to use System Architect then. Did you balance your system by ear?

You can't do that and use the crossover function in SA. One XTI configured as a 2 way crossover is effectively a mono 2 way crossover with ch1 being the lows and ch 2 being the highs. 1 mono(L/R summed) input is what is required. Y the outputs of your Cleanbox together and run 1 cable to the input of the Crown

You have to use SA to configure a 2 way crossver

When you say Y the outputs do you mean use an xlr that goes from 2 male to 1 female (female goes into amp)? Or do you mean use a function on the Clean Box that combines Ch1 + Ch2, because I don't think it can do that.
I'm sending signal L to Ch1 and signal R to Ch2 on the amp, but when I use sum Ch1 + Ch2 doesn't that make it mono and make my crossovers work?

I'm confused about the input setting and what signal to send to the amp. Do I send a premixed mono signal to the amp and use mono summed (sum ch1 + ch2)? Or do I send a stereo signal and use sum ch1 + ch2?

I also did what Sine143 said with the volume levels and it sounds like how it should. One last question. Do you use output eq to adjust the volume?

From the manual for y-ed (summed input):"CH1+CH2 (Ch.1 input signal and Ch. 2 input signal are summed and fed to both output channels.) This provides a 6 dB level boost."
This is not biamping. Will not work for crossover function. You must send a single mono input to the amp just like you would send a single mono signal to a mono 2 way crossover. The y config out of your clean box would be 2 female xlr to 1 male xlr.

My apologies - I misread the question.
Greg is right - send a mono signal to the amp, set it to mono summed in SA, and you're good to go.

I just send 2 mono signals, 1 for left, 1 for right.
I'm glad you got your issues figured out though. I'm about to pick up a 1000 for tops I think... as soon as GAS hits me again and I start building.
