I have the dayton 15watt/channel and like it so much I was actually thinking of using it for my wedges once i finish them. But I just saw those new amps and I think for the price/size/performance, they're crazy good.

And now I'm getting this crazy idea that I might be able to get away with not even having to use the behringer powered mixer! How cool would that be?! just showing up with four jacks, my laptop, and an amp the size of book!!! I just might buy it for my next order.

If anyone get's to try it before then, let us know and see what it can do.

I wonder if you have to use their power supply?
That drives up the cost quite a bit.

(EDIT) also, since they are 4 ohm capable, can they be bridged with an 8 ohm speaker?

Took a look through the manual and most of the models and it seems that you can use just about any power supply you have available. Which is really lucky for me since I have some from my old laptops that put out the required amperage. It also says in the manual that, no, you cannot bridge the channels to double the voltage like regular amps. I think that if that could be done, it would be a no brainer for me.

And turns out that there's already a review so hopefully people have more info later on.

I'm confused, look at the product specs:

Package Contents:

2 x 100W @ 4 ohms TK2050 Class-D Audio Amplifier Board ×1
3.5 mm stereo plug to L/R RCA cable ×1
Banana jack ×4
Bevel washer ×8
Power cord ×1
Auxiliary lead ×4
Cooling fan ×1

This seems like it'd be great for a T18 for small home theatre use. 4x6x1.5", so tiny! What's the smallest footprint power supply you can find for this sort of thing?

they just mean the little adapter plug so in case you have something that has a different connector, just chop it off and use the one they include. But you still need either a wall wart or a power brick(like the laptops). For my dayton, I'm using some old adaptor that I had laying around with 1amp output and it's fine.

And yes, they absolutely TINY! I have mine in a little "project box" that's 1.75x 1.75 x 3.5. Actually my dsl modem makes a nice platform for the small amp.

I'm thinking that 4 channel rascal would be just the ticket for wedgehorns. Put it in one cab, run 4 wedges. Need somebody smarter than me to figure it to use balanced inputs correctly.

Seems to me they all have un-balanced inputs only. Seems to me the boards would need additional electronics or a transformer to make the inputs balanced.

For a monitor send, you are probably dealing with a line level signal and a relatively short run. It would probably be fine to run it unbalanced. If that does not work, another idea might be to use a passive DI in reverse to convert your balanced signal to unbalanced.

Don't forget you also need a power supply for that amp board.

So the 4x100W unit would require one power supply, correct?

The di's are a good idea, but you'd need 4, if you wanted to run 4 mixes. Kind of defeats the whole cheap idea.

they may be good for a small DJ setup or a fixed audio setup on a bar or likewise, they are not as good as they say at first glance but their manuals are very revealing. I can,t imagine them inside of a cab with 20,30 mayb 40 feet of signal cable governing them but anyone can set a small mixer beside them and viola! for me im thinking of a small 2j10 2t30 dj setup of those you can setup in a minute kind. these amps seems to be like of that cheapo to not so cheapo home theather /home stereo packages that came with a bunch of even cheaper speakers, but i like the idea of having them disected for the proper management of our creative minds

by the way it seems you got to invert in that 24v power supp also

Not much in the way of specifications to evaluate:

30W @ 6 ohms, < 1% THD+N,
40W @ 8 ohms, < 3% THD+N
100W @ 4 ohms, < 10.0% THD+N
These distortion figure highlight a design consideration with Class D amps in general ( and cheap ones in particular ).
The must be sized very carefully for the intended use.
Because they are working at high efficiency; they have no reserve for crest factor.
Once they hit the hard ceiling of max output, distortion rises much faster than other topographies. They produce more objectionable non-harmonic distortion.

Amplifier manufacturing is changing. Output from the Tripath chips are outta sight. I've got ASL 100 watt tube monoblocks on my desk with A Gallo Ref3.1 and swapped the chip amp in and the 15 watt version sounds way better than it should for <$50..
