QSC CX204V

Found one of these used at a good price:

It's rated for 70v systems only. I'd want to use it as a monitor amp. Should it be able to drive low impedance loads directly, or possibly by bypassing something inside? It's not worth it to me if I have to buy transformers.

I've got the CX404 and I use it for everything, it's a great amp but... it's the low impedance version and I know you won't be able to use the 204v without a transformer.
I guess if the price is
really good you could always mount the step down transformers in the amp rack with the amp and then just use standard NL4's at the back.

If this route is taken it is extremely important to use the best transformers available.

That's kind of what I was thinking. It's not worth spending almost $300 in transformers & parts (and dealing with all the aggravation) to make a $150 used amp work. By the time I spend that, I can buy a couple of new 2 channel amps.

And on top of that; I'm betting there would be sonic compromise.
70V systems have their uses, but aren't appropriate for your purpose.

I had a QSC CV and it had standard binding post outputs for regular, non-transformered speakers in addition to the transformer outputs. Looking at the pics, it appears your model does not have this type of output available. I wouldn't know of any way to defeat the transformer requirement so that you could use them other than in 70V mode.
