I've a friend who has an extra amp and wants to lay a sub or two in his home system. (he loves to crank it while drinking). Of course I explained if he goes with horns, he'll need a limiter in the signal chain to compensate for his heavy attenuation habits.
Question: Is the dbx166a sutable for brickwall limiting BFM cabs?
I see them used on ebay for <$100.
Anything else that would be work in that price range? Needs to be balanced, preferably XLR.

I found the manual...ironically the term brickwall was never used once.
Bad week.

Muchos Gracias. Amazing what 15 minutes with Word and Paint can accomplish.
Actually, I was asked for some biz cards and didn't have any, so I made that for them, and I decided to use it online too.
