Okay, forget what I wrote before. Lets say i'm running 2x tuba 60s for a crowd of around 400 outdoors. I'll probably load them with the lab 12 driver (unless there is a big advantage to the 15)

The system would be something like this:
2x otop 12 off of a set of 80s peavey cs4000
2x tuba 60, one off each channel of an ep2000
crossover: behringer cs2310

I think i'm still missing a limiter to stop me from blowing my speakers.. not really sure what to look for in this area. So far i'm at about 700$ for subs and amps, I've got about 300$ headroom before I start hitting my limit. Of course, i'd rather do this properly.

Look for an amp that will output 1000-1200 watts @ 4 Ohms and has a real high crest factor. I recommend the Crown XTi4000 for the built-in DSP.

This begs to ask, why T36? You do know it has been dropped from the cab plans offered because it has been replaced by the Tuba 60!

I literally just bought the plans end of march, so still not eligible to get the new plans at 5 bucks. Other than size is there any major advantage to the t60s?

I use the cronw's xls 402 and xls 802. They're pretty much equivalent to the beh ep2000/ep4000, respectively. And the 802 would be the smallest amp I would use on one of the bigger drivers, of course, bigger would be even better. BTW, I'm running the bp102's on the 802, which are 10" 35 volt drivers. Although the the 402 can power them, I don't like it since it starts peaking quite early, IMO. So I'm guessing that powering the t60's would be the similar to my situation if you use the ep4000. But if you have to work with your current amp, it will get the job done, but you would need a bigger one to get them to full potential.

Curious how the 402 peaks when it's rated at 1/3 more power than the titans are limited at?

because I average 20 volts and leave the peaks go through. Anywhere from 35-45volts. I figured most of the hits will not be near the low end and the bp102's can take it. But once I build the the cabs with the kappalites, I guess I'll just settle for less than 53 volts (that's how much the 402 will give me before clipping.)
