Analog limiters?

#1 Post by Monomer »

Anyone using an analog limiter?

The limiter section in the DS48 is less then perfect, to say the least. A single channel 1RU limiter would be perfect (just limiter for subs)
-AutoTuba; Tang Band 8 inch (x1)
-T39; KappliteLF, 22 wide (x2)
-More to come!

If you have some money to spend, look at the Aphex Dominator II. Look on ebay for cheaper prices.

I'm using a Shure FP-33 preamp. It's built-in limiter is very good sounding. The down side is that the threshold control is a trim pot on the inside. PITA to adjust, but once it's set, it's not going to get touched. Again, look on ebay for cheaper prices.

If you want cheap, nothing is going to beat a digital limiter in price.
